Fly Of The Week, The Sparkle Dun

When I first started fly fishing, aquatic insects facinated me.

Starting with the first hatch of the year I would go to the index of evvery book I could find, research, then tie all stages of the insect. I studied Flick, Schwiebert and many others until I became facinated Caaucci and Nastasi approach and their Compara Dun..

I've found the Compara Dun to be an effective imitation of Ephemerella.

When I was in Yellowstone I asked the guy at Blue Ribbon Flies for thier best Pale Morning Dun imitation and was handed a Sulphur Sparkle.

I carry 14 iinvaria, 16 rotunda and 18 for dorothea.
