Stream Survey for April


This rainy month brings us swallows, Forsythia, green Willows, nesting Mallards, baetis tricaudatus, paraleptophlebia adoptiva, Craneflies and some Caddis. On wild trout water it also brings the late April doldrums. Water temperatures fluctuate between 46 and 56 degrees. Successful flies include Sucker Spawn, Honeybugs, Al’s Rat, Blue Winged Olive, Blue Quill, Snowflies, Craneflies, Hares Ears, Elk Hair Caddis, Ants, Henryville Specials and Adams.
